Why it is included

L-arginine has one of the clearest evidence links in the formula.

L-arginine is an amino acid that can serve as a substrate for nitric oxide synthase. Because nitric oxide is important to vascular smooth-muscle relaxation and normal erectile physiology, oral arginine has been studied in men with erectile dysfunction.

A 2019 systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated randomized trials of arginine in mild-to-moderate erectile dysfunction. Across heterogeneous interventions, the authors reported improvements for several outcomes compared with placebo or no treatment. Studied oral amounts were generally in the approximate 1.5–5 g/day range.

That evidence makes L-arginine relevant. It does not establish that Nitric Boost Ultra reproduces those interventions, because the product's exact L-arginine amount has not been sufficiently verified from the current material reviewed.

Evidence interpretation

What the human studies do—and do not—tell us.

Supports relevance

Human trial literature exists

Unlike ingredients supported mainly by laboratory or animal data, arginine has direct human erectile-function research and systematic-review coverage.

Limits transfer

Dose and formulation still matter

A product cannot be assumed equivalent to a trial unless the amount, form, combination and target population are sufficiently comparable.

MPS evidence grade: moderate relevant evidence for L-arginine in selected ED contexts; Nitric Boost Ultra-specific effectiveness remains unestablished.
Arginine + citrulline

Why the pairing is biologically coherent.

Oral arginine undergoes substantial first-pass metabolism. Citrulline follows a different pathway and can be converted into arginine, which is one reason the two compounds are often discussed together in nitric-oxide supplementation.

That pairing can support a mechanism hypothesis. It does not establish that an unspecified ratio or amount in a multi-ingredient formula is clinically optimized.

Safety context

Vascular relevance also means medication context matters.

Because arginine is linked with nitric-oxide and vascular pathways, people taking blood-pressure or cardiovascular medicines should not assume combination use is automatically appropriate. Individualized clinical advice is especially useful when multiple agents influence blood pressure or circulation.
